Wadiak Breaks 2nd Conference Rushing Record Steve Wadiak gained 109 yards rushing against George Washing ton last Saturday and that per formance enabled him to break his second Southern Conference rush ing record in two years. His four year rushing total topped that of North Carolina's Charlie Justice set from 1946 to 1949. Wadiak broke Justice's one-year record last year when he gained 998 yards rushing. This year after six games Wadiak has a total all-time rush ing mark of 2,647 yards which tops the 2,634 gained by Justice. Wadiak has gained 454 yards in the first six games of 1951 which is a great deal better than Justice's 377 in his final year. Wadiak has rolled up his im pressive total of yardage against some of the better teams in the nation. Included in this list are Tulane, Maryland, North Caro lina, Georgia Tech and Miami not to mention the ancient Carolina foe, Clemson. Against four of the above teams he made runs of 35 yards or more. His longest run from scrimmage was against George Washington in 1950 when he galloped 95 yards for a touchdown. His greatest total in a single game was against Clem son's 1950 Orange Bowl champs when he picked up 256 yards. Sigma Chi 1 Top Frat J As Playoff By MIKE LOVEJOY The regular season, all except one game, is all over and all that remains, in the yolleyball world, is to determine the league and cam pus champions. Playoffs start Monday with Pi Kappa Phi, the winners in Fraternity League No. 1 2 with a five won, one loss record, I meeting Phi Sigma Kappa, run- I ners-up in Fraternity League No. 1 2 with four wins and one loss tally; Ten. 24 %, who tied for second in the Independent League witt a six won, two loss record, meeting Sigma Epsilon Club, who tied for first position in the Independents with a 7-1 count; and the NROTC, who tied for first in the same league with a 7-1 margin, meeting Ten. 29, who ended up in a dead lock for second with a 6-2 tally. The tournaments will be double elimination and the winner of the fraternity league will meet the In dependent king to decide the cam pus championship. Sigma Chi, winners of Fra ternity League No. 1 with a 5-0 record, will meet either Sigma Nu or Phi Kappa Sigma, according to the outcome of a make-up game between the two latter teams. If Phi Kappa Sigma were to win they would go into a tie for second with Sigma Nu and the two would have to decide who would enter the tour nament by another game, a flip of the coin, or some other method. However, if Sigma Nu win. they will take undisputed possession of second place and go into the tour nament against Sigma Chi on Tuesday. Upon completion of volleyball, touch football will be undertaken with approximately the same league setup as for volleyball ex !ept maybe two more independent eagues, according to the number )f teams entering.
