Marriage takes precedence over other news and here is the scoop that I have gotten. Lambda Chi's saying "I do" were Al Bundy and Son Kin son. The brides are Mickey Rush of Columbia and Reba Anne Bryce of Florence. Others include Dot Wilson and Ed Lat timer, Marilyn McCoy and Jack Walthers, and Jeanine Berios and Joe Savoca. Olga Edwards, ZTA alum, will marry Jim Cothran, a Clemson alum, Dec. 15. Also, Jane Almy, ZTA alum, will marry Jim McMath, Lambda Chi now with the Marines, in February. The Phi Kaps are looking forward to much fun this year. Their first "fatback fry" was the 11th, and Monday after meeting they adjourned to Doug's. Dick Kelly took the spot light by improvising a drum from glasses and entertaining the brothers. Helen McKay, Kappa Kappa Gamma at Rollins College in Florida, will attend the game tomorrow with Bill Renfrow, Kappa Sigma. Parties Saturday night will be by the Lambda Chi's at the Woman's club. It should be a grand reunion for many alums are expected. Also partying that night will be the Kappa Sigs with the Kappa Sigs from Duke. Lightsey Murray, Pi Kappa Phi, pinned Pat Keys dur ing the summer school months. Not that they are a betting bunch, but the Kappa Sigs won a sheep's skin from the Kappa Sigs at George Washing ton U. last year after that football game. Alpha Tau Omega's new officers are Henry Hutson of Charleston, president; Nume Guerrard, also of Charleston, vice-president; Frank Ford (hmmm, he's from Charleston, too), treasurer; and Harry Bull of Georgetown, secretary. Bill Rast of Pittsburgh, will serve as publicity chairman. Starting the year's drop-ins were the ZTA's with one last Sunday. Continuing in fine fashion will be the Pi Beta Phi's this Sunday at eight p. ni. Carolina graduates now in uniform are Theo Boone, Phi Kap; Bennie Skinner, Kappa Sig, now a second lieutenant in the Marines and playing football in Quantico; Rudy Farmer,' ATO, who was visiting here last weekend. Omis sion of other names is due to my ignorance. Rodney Rowland, a Kappa Sig at Hampden-Sydney col lege (it's in Virginia) transferred to Carolina. Atta Boy! News just in from the KD's and DZ's. Anna McLaughlin, DZ alum, was married to Bob Brock Aug. 25. Also, Ida Webb, DZ, married David West, Pi KA, June 2. And Dottie Mar tin, also a Delta Zeta, is engaged to Kenneth Boissoneault. Ann Ready, KD president, is engaged to Marion Smith of Clemson, Lois Huff, KD alum, is engaged to Paul Foster, Kappa Sig. And Emma Tolson, also a KD alum, is pinned to Bill Fairey, KA. Hazel Porter will be married Nov. 3 to Lanville MengPndohtt. Luther Parker, Alpha Phi Omega, is pinned to Mary Alma Cole from Mississippi State College for Women. Dick Duncan, Phi Sigma Kappa, married "Nancy R." this summer. Ann Boyd of Charlotte, N. C., is engaged to Toby Ward, Phi Sig. Also partying after the game will be the Phi Sigs. F. Stough, president of Hy patian Literary Society, has an nounced that Hypatian held its first meeting of the semester Wed nesday at five o'clock. This meet ing was preceded by a meeting of the Executive Council on Monday. At this meeting it was decided that meetings would be held on the first and third Wednesdays in the month. Officers for the fall term include Ginny Sasher as vice-president; Joyce Woodell, treasurer; Mary Ann Sanders, secretary; Mary But ler, critic; and Tommie Herbert, chaplain. Jane Kirk was recently initiated into the society. Names of pros pective pledges are to be voted on soon with eligibility based on last semester's grades. Samples Elected For Presidency Of Brotherhood New officers of the McBryde Brotherhood were elected at a meeting Monday night. George Sample was elected president; Perry Holloway, vice-president; Ronald Adams, secretary-treas urer; H. P. Smith, historian; Herb Freeman, party chairman; and Roy Haymond, publicity agent. Plans were made for an informal party Friday night before the Pep Club dance in Joe Patrone's Game cock Room. In addition to a display beside the tenement, the Brotherhood will entertain at half time in connection with the Pep Club. Coed Association Holds Installation For New Officers At the meeting of the Coed As sociation on Wednesday, September 19, the newly elected officers were installed. They are as follows: president, Helen Coggeshall; vice president, Jeannette Dickson; sec retary, Joyce Woodell; and treas urer, Anne Darsey. Tnese officers will begin their duties immediately. At the last meeting of the spring semester the following amend ments were made to the constitu tion: 1. The officers shall serve for a term of one year. 2. Three absences a semester will be al lowed. After the second absence a member will be warned, and membership will be dropped if hei absences exceed three. Every female student is now a member of Coed, however, if she desires to be an active member she must attend meetings. It is after one begins to come that the rule of absences starts. Freshmen are especially urged to come to the meetings and take an active part in Coed. Campus Dinig Rooms Announce Serving Hours The campus dining rooms begal serving meals again last week4 Mrs. D. M. Coleman, dietitian o Wade Hampton cafeteria, has anm nounced the times for meals serve< weekly and Saturday as follows breakfast from seven-fifteen unti eight-fifteen, dinner from twelve thirty until one-fifteen, and suppe from five-thirty until six-fifteeri On Sunday, breakfast is from eigh until eight-thirty, dinner is frori twelve until one-fifteen, and sup per is not served. Miss M. E. Burris, dietitian, ani Miss Vera Wood, assistant dietitial of Steward's Hall, have announce< the serving hours as seven-fifteel to eight-fifteen for breakf asi twelve-fifteen to one-fifteen fo dinner, and five-thirty to six-thirt; for .supper. Sunday dinner I served from twelve-fifteen to one fifteen, and no Sunday supperi served. Steward's Hall is for the use o all students, while Wade Hamptoi cafeteria is for the co-eds. ValIed not* of music, information, news broad casts, sports bulletins heard emanating from this campus spot are the result of .industrious opera tors of WUSC, the universit* radio station. WUSC is on the air a total of fifty-three hours per week. From 7-8:40 a. m., Monday through Saturday: "Come Seven" and "Carolina Coffee Time" float over the air waves bringing you records and time checks while you listen and forget your troubles and clock. From 7-7:30, Monday through Friday, "Sunset Serenade," while music soft and sentimental is heard. From Monday through Friday afternoons, 2:00 to 5:00,. comes a strictly request program, t*t is a program on which your rrcord re quests are played. All you do is lift up the receiver of the nearest telephone, and ask for WUSC, or the radio station. This program is called "Campus Capers." Every night but Saturday the latest news and sports are reported. Various programs are presented every night from 7:45 to 8:00, but we want to bring your very special attention to Ezekiel Hayseed's "Down Yonder." From 8:00 to 8:30 p. in., on Mondays and Wednesdays, "Spot light on a Band" takes over. At 8:30 p. m. on Friday, you may listen to "Hit Parade." From 8:30 to 9:00 p. in., Mon day through Friday, comes the "Musical Caravan." From 9:00 to 10:00 p. m., Mon day through Friday, is your "Re quest Rendez-vous." Variety shows take up the time between 10:00 to 1:30 every night. "Music for Studying" soothes the savage beasts on Mondays and Fri days from 11:00 to 12:00 p. in. The "Cavalcade of Music" is pre sented on Tuesday night from 11:00 to 12:00. On Wednesday from 11:00 to 12:00 p. m. comes the "Classic Musicale." From 11:00 to 12:00 p. in. on Thursday the "WUSC Concert Hour" is heard. And last, but not to be slighted, is the "Midnight Jam Session" which blates out from 12:00 to 2:00 a. m. on Saturday. Van Doren States Membership Lack In Choral Group Here's your chance to sing for credit! The University Chorus is in need of more members, Mr. Van Doren, the director,: has announced. There are plenty of boys in the bass sectioti, however, the chOWta needs at least three more soptanos, two altos, and all the tenors avail able. It's always hard to locate tenors, but this year there is not a single one signed up to sing. Choral singing is a pleasure for anyone who can carry a tune. Working with the University Chorus isn't a lark; but anyone who takes part will surely enjoy it and learn much about music. The first public appearance will be for the Christmas concert. If things go well, the chorus will make a tour next semester. These tours mark the high point in the year's work of this singing group. But such an undertaking isn't pos sible unless enough people join the organization. The chorus meets from 4:80 un til 6:00 each Monday and Wed nesday afternoons.
