Commencement
Set For June
Commencement exercises have
been set for Monday, June 4, at
10:30 a. m., in the Field house,
President Norman M. Smith has
announced. The procession will
form on the horseshoe a half-hour

The baccalaureate sermon will be
held Sunday, June 3, at 8 p. m.,
in the First Baptist Church of Co
lumbia. The Rev. Fred B. Poag of
Shandon Presbyterian Church will
speak.
The university will confer honor
ary degrees upon three men this

Boylston Green, president of the
University of the S o u t h at
Sewanee, Tenn., will receive the
degree of doctor of literature.
D. Gordon Baker, .of Florence,
chief justice of the South Carolina

degree of doctor of laws.

ent will be Carl Vinson, democratic
member of congress from Georgia,
who will be awarded the doctor of
laws degree.

Sr. Questionnaire
Alpha Kappa Psi, professional
ommerce fraternity, has again dis
.ributed its "Senior Questionnaire"
which, with the cooperation of the
faculty, has become an annual 1
project.
The questionnaire is designed to
reflect the constructive opinions
and criticisms of seniors as they
prepare to leave school and is con
:erned with matters such as the
:urriculum, the various depart
nents, and fields of specialization,

general questions such as, "Do you
think the Honor System should be
nodified?" "Which of the various
grading systems do you prefer?"
and "Do you think that professors
:ffer enough time to students for
special help or extra assistance?"
The resulting statistics will be
presented to the president of the
university, the dean of the school of
Business Administration, and all
department heads for their infor
mation and guidance.
Seniors who have not filled out
a questionnaire are urged by Hor
ton to secure one from the fra
ternity's room in tenement 18 at
once.
