By TOMMIE HERBERT
Due to an abridged and somewhat curvy form of hiero
glyphic writing, this is presented under the greatest mental
and visual strain. Curious to know what it was, you know I
JACK REED and BILLY LATTIMORE, Sigma Chi's, lead
the list of travelers with terrific hangovers a" eekend
at Chapel Hill running back and forth to the tbrnament.
Like the way that modifies travelers.
MABLE JOHNSON, Chi Omega, attended the Military
Ball at the University of Georgia as the guest of BILLY
WELCH. She stayed in the Chi Omega house.
ANDY MEDES and GEORGE SIMA honored Charleston
with their presence at the Tex Beneke dance on Monday
night. More fun!
ROBBIE LOU HARPER, JANE KIRK, ALICE SNOW,
Chi Omega; MARTHA PETTY, Tri-Delt; KEN CREEL, and
JACK GOLDSCHMID journeyed to Clemson for a Methodist
Conference. No hangovers for them!
Traveling to Sumter on Tuesday night for the Guy Lom
bardo Dance were HULDA COCHRAN and MELL BROWN,
JOYCE KIMBELL and BILL WEATHERLY, GLORIA
GOODWIN and CHARLES DIXON. Lucky people! (On the
other one he was named Henry Dixon. Things like that are
interesting.)
CAROLYN MONROE spent the weekend in Asheville
visiting HARRY BRYSON's parents.
JOE BULL and DON EDNEY, Phi Kappa Sigma's, went
to Winthrop last weekend. EDDY SHINHOLSEN went to
itto the previous weekend.
PHIL SAWYER, Phi Sigma Kappa, went to Winthrop for
he Freshman Hop. Other Phi Sig travelers were CHARLIE

THOMAS, Chi O; KEMP HYERS, KA; LAWSON YATES,
Tri-Delt, and WILL MIDDLETON, Alpha Tau Omega.
GERRY GILLESPIE, DOT VARNER, and Dot's parents
went to Daytona Beach. (For a rest and change. Walters get
the change; hotels get the rest. Unquote. Or did you hear
Arthur Godfrey?)
FRANK FORD, DODE PHILLIPS, RUDY FARMER,
HARRY BULL, Alpha Tau Omega's; and dates went to Paw
ley's Isle.
Last Saturday night Sunview Lake provided the setting
for another Phi Kap "Fatback Fry." Transportation for the
Skull and Bones clan was in the form of a hayride which with
the fine weather and good Spirits, provided the medium for a
rare ole' time. Hate to leave out the best part of an article!
Thanks anyway, at any rate I got to enjoy It.
Sigma Chi's and their dates partied at ,Lake Murray Sat
urday night. Sigma Chi Derby Day will be coming up around
May 9th or 10th.
BERYL JUINN was given a birthday party by her room
mate. Around twenty people attended. Must be nice to have
friends.
It was party time for the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity
last Sat,urday nite. The affair started at exactly 8:00 p. in.,
and ended at midnite. The party was held at the Woman's
Club, and 'the place resounded with the rocking tones of
merriment, The sororities were well represented with mem
bers of Pi Phi, ZTA, Tri-Delt, and ADPi attending. Music was
furnished by the top bands of the land, via the jukebox, of
course. Mr. and Mrs. Patterson acted as chaperones. An In
flux of ATO alums from Charleston gave body to the as
