Editor-In-Chief
Librarians have a sense of
humor! This proves utterly noth
ing, but here is a notice one li
brarian wished to give to pro-1
fessors in a department here:
"We know a family-the Con
gressional, the members of which
are constantly being confused. The
family name seems to be Congress,
and the offspring have added suf
fixes . . ."
!Now, Mr. Professor, nobody
likes to have his name mis-called.
Mr. Smythe wants ,o be Mr.
Smythe, not Mr. Smith. . - . Dr.
Seagler wants to be Dr. Seagler,
not Dr. Zeigler; Dr. Penney wants
to be Dr. Penney, not Dr.
k'etty. ..
"In this old and important famn
ily of Congress, and two direct
descendants are The Congressional
Directory and the Congressional
Record; the given names invested
...Directory directs . . . Record
records. . . .
"Furthermore, these members of
this family have a distant cousin
known as the Congressional D)i
ges.t, not sprung from the same
parents at all; . . .
The object is, Professors, be darn
sure what reference you give your
disciples the next time you instruct
thenm to discover something per
taining to Congress
