HERE'S YOUR CHANCE TO BECOME A CAMPU
SWEETHEART, BOYS I The Beta Epsilon Chapter of Alphi
Delta Pi is completing plans for the election of the Alphi
Delta P1 Sweetheart to be announced at their Winter Forma

throughout the nation. Keep this in mind boys, and be at you1
shining best for the next three weeks.
FROM THE LOOKS OF THE SOCIAL CALENDAR yot
are not expected to study, sleep, or attend classes during th4
next week. Pity the poor brains who do! Phi Kappa Sig's ar
partying Thursday night. We learned through the grape vin<
that they were going to have fried chicken, no guarantee be
cause you can hear almost anything ! Sigma Chi's, their, date
and rushees will dance to the music of Woody Woodward an
his orchestra at the V.F.W. hut on Belt Line Boulevard Wed
nesday-these same boys will party again Tuesday, Novem
ber 22, at the Women's Club. Pi Kappa Alpha's had a rusl
party last night. We weren't informed as to the whereabouts
Is it a secret, boys ? There will be a French atmosphere at th4
Lambda Chi Parisian party Monday night. Wouldn't it be fui
to get loose with a camera to snap all these campus digni
taries in their French get-ups?
WALTER ROBERTS and ROGER KIRVEN were recentl3
initiated into Pi Kappa Alpha.
WHAT A WEEKEND FOR THE MOOD FAMILY. It wai
Friday night that Betty Mood got a diamond from Henr3
Dale Smith, a Citadel man. It was Sunday morning when An
Mood got a diamond from Buddy Miller. These Chi 0 twin
are planning a double wedding in June. Could anyone ask foi
anything more?
ELMORE ALEXANDER recently exchanged his fraternit3
pin for an engagement ring. She is Betty Brown of Columbis
College. Jane Beckham, former Chi 0, and John Nates, of Co.
lumbia and Washington are to be married December 2. JaclI
Lindsay of Bennettsville, ATO, was recently married. Libby
Buechel, Pi Phi, will marry Mac Allen, USC alum, on Novem

are Chi O's Pat Patrick, Jeannette Beisley, Lois McBride, and
Ish Thomas; AD Pi's Pat Lewis, Betty Jean McLean, and
Suzanne Lewis; KD's Ann Rawl and Lou Oswald and probably
the other one-half of the Carolina student body. Pi KA's re
ceived an invitation from the PKA chapter at Tech to be
guests for that weekend.
TED NEELY of Denmark was recently elected Secretary
of Kappa Alpha to replace John Mason.
PI BETA PHI entertained their province president and
vice-president last Thursday with a tea at which the alums,
actives, and pledges were introduced.
ZETA TAU ALPHAS will introduce their new pledges at a
drop-in Sunday night. Tri-Delts, ADPi's, and KD's enter
tained last week.
ALL THESE PEOPLE THAT GADABOUT EVERY
WEEKEND-Life can be beautiful. Ninnie Schultz, Sally
Stevens, Helen Cullum, and Pat Young, KD's, are going tc
Philadelphia for the Army and Navy game. Cruising around
again this weekend were Sigma Nu's on Frank Owens yacht.
Now that's a nice way to forget the cares of the campus.
Up to Clemson for the homecoming were Dot Duncan, Gene
Ann Strickland, Kat Sims, Eugenia Holiday, Celia Cooper,
Delores Meyer, Jo Ann Patrick, Betty Frazer, Suzanne Moye,
and Barbara Raffield. Beaumont Barringer went to Vander
bilt in Nashville, Tenn., for football games and dances last
week. While there she was a guest at the Tri Delta house at
Vanderbilt.
KD's Ren Frew, Jeanne Robinson and Joan James went
down for the Citadel dances last weekend.
Susan McElveen, Tri Delt, sponsored for the game. Other
Tri Deltas down were Betsy Knowlton, Stuart Mosely and
alum Helen Lee Moore. This weekend Mary Louise Gaillard
takes off for a gay weekend at the Med School dance at the
College of Charleston.
BACK TO THE PARTYING AGAIN-this in the past
tense I ATO's Layton Howerton, Bill Wells, Reggie Dusen
berry, Philip Dusenbury, Harry Heard, Ben Boddie and dates
had a gay party at the Goodwill Plantation Wednesday after
noon and night. Nice name, boys. Pi Kappa Phis had a shrimp
supper Thursday night at John D. Carrol's lake side cabin
in Lexington. Those present included the active members,
pledges and invited rushees. Sigma Chi's and dates choose
Windy Hill as the site for their good time Saturday night.

Formal Frater
Parties Held
Bids To Be E
Formal fraternity rushing began
Wednesday and will continue until
)ec. 2, Don Campbell, Inter-fra
ernity Council president, has an
tounced.
Because of the conflict with Re
igious Emphasis, IFC found it
kecessary to have the fall rush
ng season earlier. Instead of the
asual two and a half week period,
here are only siL nights in the
hortened period on which parties
-ould be scheduled.
To take care of this situation,
FC has given the fraternities the
option of having one extra party
in any of the four nights on which
-vents had already been scheduled
luring this period. In this way
!ach fraternity will have two
arties, one schedulpd by the IFC
!ouncil and one on an optional
iight.
During the rushing period, con
act with the rushees and fra
-ernity men will be permitted only
intil 8 p. m., except at formal rush
parties. Fraternity men are re
nind.ed that these rules will apply
luring the Thanksgiving holidays.
[FC will make allowances in cases
)f unavoidable ~contact, but any
Ilagrant violation will be punished,
;he president announces. Sundays
