To Give Luncheon
Tomorrow Noon

lobby of Sims dormitory tomorrow
before the football game.
More than 100 guests are In

Hospital Patients
Shown Production
By Actor Students
Last week the University Play
ers, dramatic group at USC, pro
duced "Madame'Butterfly"- at the
Veterans' Hospital to a rather un
usual audience as compared to its
usual student body clientele.
Although the cast was aware of
the situation of the production, it
seemed somewhat alien to glance
towvards the audience and note bed
attired persons intently following
the plot.
Concluding the play, the direc
tor, Prof. M. C. Christophersen,
was introduced. He, in turn, In
tr'oduced each cast member, who
was received with applause.

TypicalUSC
Vets' Lives
The typical life of married vet
erans at the university is that of
Jack and Ann Platt of 2721 Kings
wood Drive.
Jack and Ann were married
Aug. 7, 1948. They were both stu
dents in summer term at the Uni
versity at the time, having recent
ly been discharged from the armed
services.
Their home is their main source
of amusement, and any visitor to
it can easily see why. They have
recently been given, a six-weeks
old bird dog to add to their pet
collection of two cats and a dog.
"Never a dull moment," Ann says.
This past summer they took their
first real vacation together. In
their '41 Ford they toured Georgia,
Alabama and Florida. Next sum
mer they hope to be able to go to
Breckenridge, Pa., which is Ann's
home town.
Jack is majoring in business ad
ministration at the university, but
his favorite courses are in langu
ages. He became interested in
languages while stationed in Italy
with the army. He will be grad
uated in-June, 1950, and wants to
continue studying at the university
until he beginh a career in teach
ing languages.
Ann is double majoring in art
and geography, and plans to teach
school, also, when she graduates
in 1951.
