Preston Third East had little
difficulty in defeating the Monkey
Faced Moonbeams, 10-4, in a long
ball game April 20. Duckett, with
four hits in four times at bat, and
Gambrell, with a home run, led the
winners in hitting. Thomas, the
losing pitcher, rapped out two
singles in three trips. Wiles hom
ered for the losers.

Aqua Parad
Block C Ani
The Minor Block C and the Wo
men's Athletic Association will
present the second performance of
the "Circus Aqua Parade" at 7:80
tonight in the natatorium. The
first performance was last night.
The circus features the aqua
beaus and aquabelles in diving
acts, trapeze acts, sword dances,
snake dances, and other exhibitions.
The circus will include the "big
top" and all its underlings.
Shorty Hilliard will be the man
on the flying trapeze. Howard
King, and Jim Clemmons are the
featured male divers while Kath
ryn Wallace, Dolly Steinberg, and
Walton Jeffords lead the mer
maids.
Fritz Turner and Earl Skidmore
will do a comedy act. Bareback
riders will perform and a candle
light swim will conclude the page
ant.
George Wright will act as mas
ter of ceremonies and Bob May and
his band will play as the circus
band.
The water circus will bp broad
cast tonight over WUSC. The
swimming routines were originated
by the swimming classes under the
direction of Miss Verna Farmer,
physical education instructor. The
sword dance is performed by mem
bers of the dancing classes.
Admission is 30 cents.
Sigma defeated the Pi Kap's 6-1
Wednesday. Yates and Camp each
got two hits in three times at bat
for the winners. Dusenbury and
Briggs accounted for the two hits
by the losers.

Golf Tournament
Held Next Week
At Glenwood Club
Thirty students have signed up
for the first annual Intramural
Golf Tournament and have been
going through qualifying rounds
this week. The tournament will be
gin next week at the Glenwood
country club golf course.
The tourney is sponscred through
the cooperation of the National
Golf Foundation which has donated
certificates and medals for the
winner and runner up In recogni
tion of meritorious performance.
Following the golf tournament,
Student Manager Dick Singleton
announced that a boxing tourna
ment will be held in the field
house May 13 and 14 (tentatively).
All students interested in partici
pating are requested to contact Joe
Grugan's office in the gymnasium.
Grugan will furnish further de
tails. Boxing team members will
act as seconds and a competent
referee will officiate.
NOTICE
The scheduled golf matches at
Furman and Clemson today and
tomorrow have been cancelled.
The golf team will play in the
Southern Invitational golf tour
nament at Athens, Ga., instead.
