Unbeaten teams were an oddity
in the standings of the intramural
basketball tournament last week.
Only five of the 33 clubs remained
with perfect records during the
week's play as the tournament
rounded into its closing weeks.
The headline game of the week
was between Phi Kappa Phi and
SAE in Fraternity league No. 1,
Monday night in the gymnasium.
The undefeated Pi Kappa Phi's
were favored over second place
SAE, but were dealt one of the
biggest upsets of the season as
SAE whipped them, 37-17, to take
over the league leadership.
The annual intramural track
meet will be held on Melton
Field March 29-30 with the
famous Farr-Mile trophy at
stake. Entries are being re
ceived by Joe Grugan at his of
fice in the gymnasium.
Standings among the rest of the
teams remained the same.
Results:
Blue and Gray forfeited to
NROTC in a scheduled game for
Thursday at the gymnasium.
Sigma Chi (19)-Phi Sigma
Kappa (17)
Sigma Chi edged Phi Sigma
Kappa, 19-17, in a slow game
Thursday night at the gymnasium.
Parrish was high scorer for Sigma
Chi with six points while A. Bol
lins got six for Phi Sigma Kappa.
Kappa Alpha (43)-Kappa
Sigma (28)
Rogers. Maefie and Nichols
teamed up for the KAs to defeat
Kappa Sigma, 43-28, Thursday
night In the field house and put
Kappa Alpha into sole possession
of second place ahead of Kappa
Sig. Nichols scored 14 points,
Rogers got 10 and Macfie sank 8
for the winners, while league
leading scorer, Johnny Sykes, got
eight for the Kappa Sigs.
Carovets (31)-Law School (29)
It took Carovets an overtime
period to defeat Law School, 81
29, in the field house Thursday
night. The score was tied, 29-29,
at the close of the regulation
game. Shealy was high scorer for
the Carovets, getting 11 points as
Riley led the Law Schoolers with
eight. The win put Carovets in
second place ahead of Tenements
2 and 3 in independent league
No. 1.
Preston First West forfeited to
the Left Wingers Thursday in a
scheduled game at the field house.

remain unbeaten Monday night in
the field house. Dutch Riley and
M. E. Rentz scored 12 pbints
apiece to lead BSU's scoring.

led Tenement 24% to a 48-33.win
over Tenements 1 and 5 Monday

day night at the gymnasium.
L'Artigue Riley led SAE with 16
points while Dick Singleton got
seven for the losers. SAE was
never behind and had little trou
