U.S.C. Base Wake Forest Carolina's baseball team travels to Bennettsville today for a night game with the strong Wake For est Deacons. Coach Ted Petoskey announced Bo Hagan and Bill Camp as his pitching choices for the opening game. Petoskey will be out foi sweet revenge since the same Deacons t blasted his charges 19-1 in 1940, C his first year as baseball coach ' at Carolina. He hopes to pass Wake Forest in the long series dating back to 1896 between the two schools. To date the Wakes N are a game up on the Birds, hav- 2 ing won 11 and lost 10. Tomorrow afternoon it will be a dog-eat-dog affair according to Petoskey and no definite mound assignments have been made. I Frank Sherer and Don Moore will probably get the nod. Each league is subdivided into two see tions of six and seven teams. The teams will play each other-S but once and upon conclusion of the regular schedule, a playoff be tween the two top teams of each! section will follow to determine! the league winners. The two league V winners will then meet for the intramural championship. Results of the games thus far played are as follows: Phi Ep silon Pi-Kappa Sigma, 8-6; Phil3 Kappa Signia-Lamba Chi Alpha, 2-1; Sigma Nu-Kappa Alpha, 13 11; Sigma Chi-Sigma Alpha Ep-jv silon, 7-5. Golfers Meet Furman Team In Greenville By PETE PARTEE After traveling to Davidson yes terday to meet the Wildcat link sters, Carolina's golf team will "hit the highway" again today and tomorrow as they journey up state to meet Furman and Clemson, re spectively. Yesterday's return match was played in contradiction to the schedule cards issued through the post office recently as the matchl was listed for April 18. The lo cals lost to the Davidson team in their first meet of the year and were seeking revenge yesterday. Coach Al Grygo announced two other schedule changes in addition to the Davidson match this week. The return Furman affray sched uled for April 19 was moved up to April 29 and the meet with College of Charleston in Charles ton was changed from May 7 to May 22. The Bird's No. I niblic wielder, George Dial, has proven that he is in his rightfui spot this year with an average of 75.7 per round for the first three matches. Bob Thoren, last year's top spot man who wvas this year dropped to the No. 3 position, trails Dial wvith three 78's. The number 2 linkster, Bob Chapman, has a 79 average. Carroll Williamson carded en 83 and an 87 as the fourth man in the first two matches. Tom Huiet who is now playing this position turned in an 83 in the P.C. wvin. CALL FOR Intramural Bo Will Be Crown The intramural boxing finals will be held tonight at 8 o'clock in the university field house. The semi-finals last night represented four teams and consisted of nine bouts. All interested candidates in the tournament were assigned to one of four teams, that were coached by members of the varsity boxing team. Frank Threatt, Elerson Fowler, Chris Hitopoulos and Fletcher Dean coached team num ber one. Coaches for the second team were Billy Rutledge, Pete Compassi, and "Red" Douglas. Sylvester Lewis, Grady Decell, and James Skinner were the coaches of team number three. Ray Avant, Joe Stringer, and Jim Briggman coached the fourth team.
