U.S.C. Basel Wake Fores Carolina's baseball team travels to Bennettsville today for a night game with the strong Wake For est Deacons. Coach Ted Petoskey announced Bo Hagan and Bill Camp as his pitching choices for the opening game. Petoskey will be out for sweet revenge since the same Deacons blasted his charges 19-1 in 1940, his first year as baseball coach at Carolina. He hopes to pass Wake Forest in the long series dating back to 1896 between the two schools. To date the Wakes are a game up on the Birds, hav ing won 11 and lost 10. Tomorrow afternoon it will be a dog-eat-dog affair according to Petoskey and no definite mound assignments have been made. Frank Sherer and Don Moore will probably get the nod. The starting lineup: Freddie Bargiacehi, 2b Johnny Sykes, ss Jim Pinkerton, 3b Joe Johnston, 1b Bill Collins, if Harry Parone, rf Keith Cribb, ef Gus Allen, e Bo Hagan, p Fraternity Softball Play Gets Started In Intramural Loop By JIMMY CRAWFORD The intramural softball tourna ment opened with a hit this week with 13 teams representing the fraternity league and 13 teams for the independent league. Each league is subdivided into two sec tions of sx and seven teams. The teams will play each other but once and upon conclusion of the regular schedule, a playoff be tween the tw%u top teams- oil each section will follow to determinel the league winners. The two league winners will then meet for the intramural championship.
