The inadequate shelter avail able to students in Europe, the starvation diet they live on-and have been living on for a long time--their general debilitation after years as prisoners in Fort ress Europe-these create a se rious health problem. Sometimes, as in Peiping and Athens, thirty to forty per cent of the student body is tubercutar. - European students must do their studying in the daytime, because they have no light. They must wear their overcoats in clasq-if they have overcoats-because their classrooms are unheated. Many of them are dying; many more will die. It is internitional in scope, non sectarian and non-political in or ganization. ' Money collected by the WSSF is cabled from New York directly - to the European Studeft Relief 4 Fund in Geneva or to WS$?F in Shanghai under a permit granted by the United States Treasury Department. The European Fund has na tional committees in all European countries except Germany.
