"A Dresscessional"
Girl of the Future, feared of all,
Chasing the far-flung Fashion line,
What awful things may yet appall, .
Hung on your human form divine!
Girl of today-stay with us yet,
Lest we regret! Lest we regret!
And while we're on the subject of new fashions, some
one suggested a name for the evening gown pictured in
Life two weeks ago. Why not call it "The Unarmed Trans
port", because it has no nav'l protection.
Getting literary, have you read "Gullible's Travels"? It's
the recently published classic about a girl's- first summer
at the beach ... boy--did she have it made!
By the way ...
Several events occurred back in the summer which haven't
found their way into kollijink. Ann Ford and Marion Powell
were married back in August. The engagement of Dot Flory,
allumnus, and George Fischer, Sigma Nu, was. announced
some time ago. And Hal Middlebrooks married a gawjus
gal from down in Texas. Betty McCreight, Tri-Delta, and
Chuck Garnett, SAE, were married recently, and Barbara
Brasington and Jim Ellison were joined together last week.
A letter from Bryant Adams (Hat Trophy, All-American
Meatball) Meeks, Jr., says that he is keeping residence in
Pittsburg while playing pro ball for the Steelers and that he
is doing fine.
Barbara Hawthorne, DZ, and Bob George, Phi K Sig,
were married in Holly Hill last week.
REMINISCING .. .
... That week at the beach ... the sunburn ... suntan ..
beautiful figures . . . bags . . . seafood . . . seafools .
parties . .. nights and mosquitoes on the strand . . . new
faces, new figures, new lines, new answers . . . new con
quests ... new-morous defeats . . . the smell of burnt backs
. . . the gentle roll of the waves--walking with their boy
friends ... men wading for their wives . . . and what wolves!
One guy down there was such a wolf he had to be psycho
animalized.. .
LAST WEEKEND .. .
I bet on a horse suffering from an inferiority complex
... the jockey was always riding him.
The Sigma Chi's had a wee party at the Plaza Saturday
eve. Vernon "On Tap" Sloan looking young for his twenty
six years, doing handstands on the stools.
. . . the "spots" looking bare and deserted as students
departed for home to touch "the ol' man" for enough to get
thru this week's festivities.... George Giles, SAE, dropped
in on his buddies.
THIS WEEKEND . . .
... WOO-o
. . . Everybody partibrating la victoire, and the Tigers will
be nursing their torn talons, so spruce up yore feathers,
Gamecocks, and let's all have lots..of spirit. B.Y.O.S.
. . . SAE's Giles Generette, Howard Love, and Foster Mar
shall will go to Raleigh to attend the installation ceremony
for a new SAE chapter at N. C. State.
...Sigma Nu's Jerry Meacham, Roy Young, Ed Mauldin,
Tracy Baxter, and Jack Matthews will be on hanpd for the
game and parties.
A COEDITION:
Recently a certain coed informed her friend that she had
a supper date with so-and-so.
"I don't believe J know him," stated the friend.
"Well, don't fret," replied our coed, "you haven't missed
anything but a supper."
DAFFYNISHUN:
.A bore is a fellow who wants to talk about himself when
you want to talk about yourself.
...so now you talk.
