The Inter-Fraternity Council at
the university has approved its
rushing rules, and they have been
adopted by the council for the
coming semester. Having changed
somewhat from previous aenes
ters, the rules are more specific
as to minute details, and cover
more fully all phases of rushing.
At present, rush season is not
open, and any fraternity man who
too freely associates with a per
spective rushee is subjecting his
fraternity to a considerable fine,
and possible suspension from all
rushing activities for the coming
year. Any rushee who attends any
social function limited to any fra
ternal organization, makes the
fraternity involved subject to a
first degree violation, as covered
n the I.F.C. constitution.
Regulations from the Inter-Fra
ernity council for rush week fol
ow:
(1) Formal rush season opens
Monday, November 17, 1947, and
closes 1 a. m., December 5, 1947.
(2) Each fraternity is allowed two -
formal parties during closed t
rushing, one during the first half a
and one during the second half. 1
rwo fraternities will have parties a
each night, as will be determined
by I.F.C. There will be no parties t
on November 21, 26, or 27. These a
dlates are excluded due to a Ger- t
man Club Formal and Thanksgiv
ing Holiday.
Prior to the opening of formal c
eush season' rushees may be in- a
vited to a rush party only by r
mail, using card forms furnished r
by I.F.C. These cards are to be a
brought by the I.F.C. representa- a
tives to the November .11 meeting S
