Annual Affair
To Be Held At
Hotel Columbia
Student Body Is
Invited TO Attend
The Gamma Nu chapter, found
ed on the University campus in
1929, of the Sigma Chi national
social fraternity, will entertain
with a tea dance after the Caro
lina-Furman Homecoming game
on Saturday, October 11, in the
ballroom of the Hotel Columbia,
from 7:00 until 9:00 p. in.
A large Sigma Chi crest behind
the band stand will be the main
decoration. The fraternity colors,
blue and gold, and the university
colors, garnet and black, will com
plete the decorations. Woody
Woodward and his orchestra will
furnish the music for the occa
sion.
Members of both the Univer
sity of South Carolina and Fur
man university faculty, alumni,
and entire student body are in
vited.
The sponsors for the dance are

Sapp; Evelyn Preston for vice
president, Gordon Able; Dool
Coskrey for secretary, Edgar Nel
son; "Boots" Clark for treasurer,
John Copeland, and Sophie Riddle
for social chairman, Jim Thomas.
After the dance, the Sigma
Chi's and their dates will enjoy a
party at the Rathskeller of the
Jefferson Hotel.
After the 1946 crowning of the
Homecoming queen, Mary Shoun,
the Sigma Clii's entertained with a
tea dance in the Hotel Columbia
ballroom. The Sigma Chi's hope
that they will be able to make this
Homecoming tea dance an annual
event.
