But don't go away-it's the same old column with the same ole dirt-just a different Co-Ed snoop ing around the campus to give you a couple of clues. They tell me this is supposed to be a society column, and just to make a good impression I'll try to stick to my subject at least this time. But I can't make any promises as to what this column will contain as the weeks go by, so I'm playing safe and calling it VARIATIONS. CONVENTIONS As I stuck my head into the various sorority rooms with a very businesslike "what's up, Doc?"-I found that with the termination of wartime restrictions the Greek Letter girls are planning big trips to the national conventions the last of June. Delegates to the KD convention in Cincinnati are Eleanor McCall and Elise Ready.-Dee Zee's are sending Harriet Lee to represent the campus chapter at Breezy Point, Mich. . . . Representatives to the A DPi convention in Colo radio are Minnie Holmes, Charlotte Gregg, Ann Stone, Jinx Giles, and Blanche Swarthout.......The ChiO convention is be ing held at Spring Lake, N. J., with Mary Jumper, Patty Malcolm, Mary Varn, Lynn Hook. Patty Hoover. and Mary Helen Shawhan representing the local chapter.......Jane La nier, Jo Seideman, and Virginia Williams will represent the Pi Phi'% at Swampscott, Mass.......Jackie Shaw is the delegate to the ZTA convention at Lake Wewassee, Ill.......Jessie Lewis and Nibbie Forbes will represent the Tri Delts at the con vention in N. J. NEW INITIATES AKG held initiation in the KD room Tuesday night for the new members tapped at the AKG Song Fest.......Tri Delts pinned the Crescent and Stars on fifteen girls We(lnesday night. They are Jean Lumpkin. Delores Shuler. Mamie Dowe, Pauline Trotter, Boots Clark, Ann Moore, June Henry, Mary King, Nancy Nash, Byrd Murray, Betsy Fridge, Martha Parker, Kate Ellison, Nancy Ruff, and Ranny Reaves. Sigma Chi's have 14 new members: Andy Williams. Johnny Careleton, Jerry Ftizgerald, Jim Hairell, Miller Fos ter, Lewis Callahan, Charlie DeLoach, Ed Hallman, Harry Hanna, Joe Sapp, John Edens. George Russell. Larry Pol lard, and Tom Hirsh. SAE's also held initiation on Wednesday night and wel comed into the chapter Ben Badger. Trippett Boineau, Ed Kleckley, James Creed, Jim Cullum. Donald Dozier, Johnny Hodges, Robert King, Burnet Ma.vbank, Bill Marchant, Joe O'Hara, and Norman Smith, Ill.......Dee Zee's recently initi ated Hellen Hendley, Betty Counts. Speaking of weddings, many lovely parties are being had for Sandy Owings who will become Mrs. Joe Dillard June 22. ......Tri Delts had a miscellaneous shower last Friday for their June Bride. There are 121 seniors receiving their commissions as ensigns at the University of South Carolina this year. Music for the dance will be furnished by Roy Neal and his Carolina Cavalliers. In the receiving line will be: T. 0. Saul, regimental commander, with Miss Hazel ("Sandy") Mor rison; Johnny Gresham, First Bata tallon commander, with.
