This victory leaves the SAE's with a to tal of eight victories without a sin gle defeat. It was a touch and go game all the way through, with the superior work of the SAE infield proving to the Tenement lads that having a star pitcher wasn't enough in it self. But Talus showed his usual admirable form as hes truck out 17 of the fraternity batters to become thei ndividual star of the day. Bill Carr performed his usual fine job on the SAE end of the mound. Although SAE Is assured of the Intramural Championship by virtue of their fine record so far, Tene ment Seven and Phi Kappa Sigma trail closely behind. The Phi Kaps are in second place with seven wins and one loss, while the Tenement lads have seven victories against two losses. In another game of the day. Pi Kappa Alpha outfought the White Stars of Sigma Nu to take a thril ling 4-3 victory. Harry Newell was the mound star for the Pikes, while "Meatball" Meeks performed for the losers. Johnson. a native of Greenwood. was driving towards his home eai ly Wednesday morning when his auto bile left the highway near the city. He was the sok- occupant of the vehicle which was demolished. The former Carolina athlete was rushed to the Greenwood hospital after the accident and was latet brought to the Columbia hospital Wednesdaya fternoon.
