What more can I say?
Before their dance on May 31st, General and Mrs. Martin
will give a drop-in for the DELTA ZETAS and their dates at
Fort Jackson, where Martin is commanding officer. Many
of the girls from the Charleston chapter are coming up for
* the dance and the two chapters will go on a house party
at the beach immediately after the dance. Toni Simpson
was the only girl from the campus to be chosen for the
beauty section of the Salvo. The other four girls were chosen
from pictures submitted by the boys in the naval unit here.
DZ's are mighty proud of Toni.
Irene Stern, AE Phi, gave a drop-in before the Hillel
dance last Saturday night. AE Phi's are hoping for sunshine
Sunday on account of they are going on a swimming party
that day.
KAPPA DELTA'S initiated three girls Tuesday night.
They are-Mary McQueen, Adelaide Sox, and Mickey Black.
CHI OMEGA'S are going to have a house party come the
16th of June and lasting until the 23rd. At this t-ime they will
be found at Lundee's Cottage at Oocean Drive. About 34 of
the girls are planning to go down. '
PI PHI'S pledges entertained their activities with a swim
ming party Tuesday at Sesqui. Much food and everybody
had a wonderful time.
PI KAPPA PHI'S took the CHI O'S to breakfast at the
Wade Hampton and to church last Sunday and everybody
had such a wonderful time. I think this is a perfectly won
derful idea and think the fraternities and sororities should
get together more often.
PI KAPPA PIll's also pledged George Prather, Harold
Fletcher, Jim Singleton and Walter Rodgers on May 22nd.
They will be visited this weekend by Fred Quinn, the travel
' ing chancelor for the fraternity who will attend the state
wide reunion of the fraternity.
The new officers of LAMDA CH I are: Pres.-Freddie Mc
Intyre, V. lres.--John Skalangya, Sec.-Keith Edwards,
Treas.--Dudley Greeg. Soc. Chairman-Bunny Hayden,
Rush Chairman-Buddy Boulware, and Ritualist-Banks
earborough. To be initiated May 31st, Freddie Atkinson,
Bill Cox, Marion Ghandi, Acy Platt, A. C. Thomas, John
Thomas. Dudley Greer was elected to represent the chapter
at the national convention in Toronto, Canada, in August.
Fred Beck is alternate representative and Ernie Davis, Wal
ter Myers, and Banks Scarborough are also planning to
attend.
PHI EPSILON PI elected their new officers Monday
night. They are: Myer Price, president; David Wallnau, vice
president; recording secretary, Herbert Burwick; corre
spondence secretary, William Gardner; treasurer, Ray Scha
fer; and David Gordin, chaplain.
SIGMA C l's will initiate 14 boys next weekend. Neale
Luetke is planning to get married some time in June and
we certainly wish him every happiness.
SAE'S new officers as of Monday night are: Pres.-Joe
Lumpkin, V. Pres.-JIoe ('aughman. Treas.-Riley Bradham,
Sec.-Bird Dog Thornton.

eon's Pond with swimming. etc - . . you know, when I get

ICAL ASSOCIATION gave a banquet Thursday at the Wade
HIamp)ton Hotel. Governor Williams and Admiral Smith will
be the speakers.

Banquet at the Riverside 'Country
club last Sunday night, May 19.
1946. Phi Ep alumni and their
wives were guests of honor. The
scene was a very festive occasion
since it was the first reunion of
alumni with the active chaper since
the w%ar, and was filled with numer
ous impromptu after dinner
speeches from the alumni.
Prior to the banquet. during the
afternoon, the Phi Eps initiated
William Gardner, veteran and USC
freshman from Youngstown, Ohio,
into the active ranks-being ably
assisted by many alumni present.
