The dance was held in the Univer sity field house from 7:30 to 10:30 o'clock, with Roy Neal and his or chestra furnishing the music. The dance was open to veterans and non-veterans and was one of the first affairs planned by the veterans to help the students be conic more acquainted. The organization was formed last March, with Bob Stoddard serving as president. Vernon Sumwalt is ,chairman of the social committee. Juie Ball Is Cancelled By Social Conimittee Roy Garrelt, director of student activities at the University of South Carolina, has informed the Ger man club of the Social committee's action to cancel the June ball, which was scheduled for June 19. This action was prompted for three reasons (1) no girls will be allowed to remain in the dormi tories the night of June 19, (2) the spring term ends on the 19th and the summer term begins on June 20. (3) most of the Navy boys will be gone as graduating seniors have only foui-days leave. The German club was in charge of the June hall.
