To speak of many things,
Of bird nests, gardens, cabbage heads,

Because all these things

Go to make up Easter hats.
SORORITIES ...
Zeta news. . . . New initiates are Marilyn Ham, Alsie
Blume, Liz Stewart, Mary Clark, Betty Nevill, and Margaret
Lunn.
CORRECTION . . . ADPI's phone number is 41368 and I
got it wrong and I'm so sorry. Of interest is the engagement
of alum Lena Gilbert to Buck Isom, Kappa Sig alum. New
on the campus is T-Model Ford belonging to Sally Rickmon,
Margaret Scheper, Betty Lee Phillips and Claire Cely. Watch
for a car with chint/. seat covers and ruffled curtains and
that will be it.
Pi Phi's had a picnic Tuesday night out at Mrs. Hawkins
and from all reports it was wonderful.
Delta Zetas had a Black and White party for the new
* pledges of all the frats on campus. The decorations, food
and costumes were all in these two colors making it quite
interesting and different. Newest editions to the DZ room
are members of the Columbia "Reds" Baseball team who pay
them a nightly visit.
Leslie Bennett now possesses a shiny new KA pin which
was given to her by one Robley MacDonald. Leslie is a Chi
Omegq.
The Phi Eps had a cabaret dance to end rush week at good
old Arsenal Hill. They also had a good party last week. Re
turning veterans who visited the chapter last week were
Arny Alter, Jerry Tucker. These boys will be returning to
the campus this fall.
Lambda Chi's had a smoker Wednesday night for their
new pledges. They will have initiation Saturday night and
those initiates are-Fred McIntyre and Ray Parks. New
pledge officers are: president, A. C. Thomas; vice presi
dent, Bill Purvis; treasurer, Charlie Iarrelsoin; secretary,
George Locke, and historian, John Tomas.
The KA's are still going strong and are planning a rustic
revelry Saturday night which they are pitching in honor of
Henry Priester. Milk and ginger snaps will not be served.
Several KA's with the cash and carry essentials will trek
down to the beach this weekend and no doubt have a gay
time. Brother Barney Dusenbury, now a handsome Marine,
paid the chapter a welcome visit over the weekend.
Pi Kappa Phi initiated: Harry Agnew, Freddie Brogden,
Tom Furgerson, Bill Griggs, Richta Moore. and Allen Shands
last Saturday eve. Alumni aiding in the unit were Fred
Quinn, Eugene Kibler and Rernie Jones.
The Sigma Chi's had pledge exercises Wednesday night
with meeting afterwards at Joe Patrones. They will give a
party this Saturday night in honor of the pledges at Earl
wood Park and it is expected to he a really Jolly Sig affair.
Buster Coleman has been elected pledgemaster. And, having
been a member of the frat back in the "Good Ole Days" it is
certain he will (do a wonderful .iob. Henry Griffith will be
chairman of the committee for skit night and they issue this
warning to other organ izations-The fraternity's best wits
are working with Henry. Work and p)lans are fast being
made for the Sweetheart D)ance to be given the 24th of May.
Everything is being dlone to make this dance the outstanding
affair of the season so it ought to be good.
Well I'll say Hasta Ia Samana, but don't quote me on it.
