The squad will be divided some what as follows. The first team will call on Pat Lenahan and Bo Carter at ends, "Red" Osborne and Kale Alexander at the tackle slots, Max Walker and Niel Allen at guards, and Bruce Tate at the center post. Phil Cantore has been .handling quarterback assignments, with Jack Couch, Dick Frantz, and Jim Hun nicut performing at tailback, full back and wingback, respectively. The second team boasts the squads best kicker In little Johnny O'Neil, who will perform at the tail back spot. Bud Moessner will work at the wingback spot with Paul Dellerbra working in to complete the backfield. Last years end George Farris has been looking very good in the last few practice sessions and will probably be the only navy boy to break into the starting line up. Holding down the other flank alongside Farris will be Bob O'Hara, former Gamecock letterman. At the tackle slots will be Phil Alexander, brother of first-stringer Kale, and Doyle Norman, with Pete Lane and Jake Land working in at the guards. Center Jack IIogg will com plete the starting lineup for the un derdog eleven. Much intra-squad competition has developed in the past two weeks as the reserves have upset Coach En rights dope and ptished his chosen eleven all over the field. This hasn't settled too well with the bigger boys and they are determined to regain their prestige on the grid iron next Saturday. The game is considered 1. be evenly matched. according to the most rabid' of the Gamecock fans, and there will undoubtedly be good football played at the Fair Grounds Saturday next. The . netmen, recuperating from a whitewashing by Kalamazoo Col lege last Tuesday, will be working for their second win of the year and a chance of becoming South ern Conference Net champions. The Davidson lads will present the toughest opposition that the Gamecocks will face all year,since the Tar boys from "up north" usu4lly rank among the top five teams in the South. This year, the Wildcats are coached by a national ly known pro, and show promise of once again becoming the top team of this section. Captain Bob Wickam was silent as to his teams chances for victory today: but indications are that the Gamecocks are in top form for the matches. Wickam has been work ing his squad all week in an effort to weild it into the smooth work ing group of racket-teers that beat Clemson two weeks ago. The ad dition of ROTC Ben Chamberlin to the starting crew should prove a valuable asset.
