Isn't this spring fever just terrible? It certainly makes
one's mind turn to thing which one's mind shouldn't be turn
ing to such as swimming, moonlight and flowers.., did you
ever see wisteria in the moonlight?
Interesting news about sororities is....
The A D Pi's will hold initiation Thursday, April 11th and
those being initiated are: Dorothy Kilpatrick, Sally Rickman,
Margaret Scheper, Betty Ruth Stephen, Ann Stone, and Jean
Turner. BOYS ... the A D Pi's now have a telephone and
the number is 71368.
The Chi 0's had a buffet supper in the room last night to
celebrate their Founder's Day. The food was just delicious
and everybody had just a bang up old good time. The actives
and pledges meet every Friday after pledge meeting to have
cokes and chatter and a lot of fun. Ricky Hedricks has a sim
ply beautiful KA pin which Marion Blakely gave her. As a
matter of fact its just about the prettiest thing I ever saw.
The ZTA's enjoyed sandwiches and punch in the sorority
room Tuesday night and are going to have a Ranch party at
the Legion Hut tonight which sounds like an awful lot of
fun. Wilhelmenia Fletcher will become Mrs. Henry Couch
around the last part of June or the first of July. Henry -is a
Pi Kappa Phi here on campus. We sure wish you all every
happiness.
New initiates for A E Phi are Annette Crane, Sara Fried
man, Shirley Gergel, Pat Greenspan, Rona Siegel, Helen
Stein, Dana Yaschik, Phyllis Karesh, and Fay Lomansky.
Something different... Delta Tau's will have a "backward
party" at Sesqui Saturday afternoon which among other
things will include the crowning of the Sweetheart of Delta
Tau.
This week appears to be the slack season for fraternity
parties what with rushing over, pledging and mid-semesters
coming up there just isn't too much time for it, I guess, but
there is still news. . .
Kappa Sigs had informal initiation Monday night and it
really was a night. After a scavenger hunt they serenaded
the sororities and then went back to the frat room for shall
et-c say, further chastisement? Formal initiation will be held
this afternoon.
The Lambda Chi's had a Smoker Wednesday night for
their new pledges.
The Pi Kdjpa Phi's will be visited by Fred Quinn their
iinational secretary over this weekend. Fred is a former stu
dent of the University.
And by the way-did you know that you just ain't in
the groove unless you learn to dance the Bert and Tick way?
Bert Moore and Tick Chapman, that is. They say they have
plenty of men but not too many girls at the dancing class
and so please don't be in the least bashful and go on up there
because they have an awful lot of fun. They are also having
advance classes in rhumba, tango, etc., and everybody inter
ested is invited.
The KA Fraternity after having pledged 16 boys went
over to the KA rooms to hold a formal pledge ceremony. Fol
lowing this a drop in was held for the new pledges where
punch, sandwiches, etc., was served.
Among the old boys dropping by the campus this week
were Ens. Henry Priester of Columbia and Ens. Ed Samuel
of Beaufort, both expect to return to school next fall.
The literary societies banquet will he held Wednesday,
April 10 at the Wade Hampton. Dr. T. Walter Herbert will
speak. It is informal. The MC is George Simpson.
Well, people, I'll just be saying ow reservoir for now but
['ll be ramblin' next week just the same as now and will see
you then.
