Dressmaking Prob As Clothes Clinic R. flhe Clothing Clinic, which Is osored by the iomemaking De partment at the University of South Carolina, will be functioning against in the very near future, according to a statement Issued by Miss Cole, head of the department. .*he Cl'nic will be held in the Foniem king classrooms from 3:00 to 5:00 on Wednesday afternoons. The Clinic was primarily design ed to aid those students who have priblems in dressmaking. There will be two sewing machines avall able every Wednesday afternoon; there may be students, however, who r'tay just wish to consult Miss Cole about various phases of dress making, and not do any actual sew ing. This clinic will be open to all stu dents enrolled in the University of South Carolina, regardless of whether or not they are enrolled in the Illmiemaking Iw>partmenf. Her plan may be broken down into three major steps. First, is the reopening of the Clothing Clin ic, which will be held in the llome making Departments classrooms from 3 to 5 P. M. on Wednesday afternoons. Secondly, the Home making Department will be assign ed a column in the Gamecock. This column will include such articles as helpful hints on etiquette and behavior. The third part of Miss Cole's plan is to have a question box set up In the Post Office. Stu dents would be encouraged to drop any qvestions which they might have on any phase of homemaking, into the box. On returning I found that I was being lambasted with question aft er question and, I must admit that it seemed a bit like the interview of a few days previous was still In rapid-fire progress. The most popular of all the questions pep pered in my driection was the one mothering the idea of "why in the world was it you that they picked for the appearance". Well, that's a story that wears the dateline, "Ream General Hos pital, Palm Beach, Florida, Febru ary 21, 1944". It was at that spot and on that dale that Vox Pop sidetracked its Bromoseltzer Train for a one-night show consisting of interviews of patients and person nel, then stationed or attached for decisions and Incisions, of Ream General Hospital. The hospital, in cidentliall.v, was placed within the mimory-filled Breakers Ilotel that mlosaic playground of tihe rich and restless-and. was soonl after wards reclaimed by tile playboy pa trons and put into new clolhes for lite prospective post-war boom. It was on this show and at this his pital that I first shook hands witii P'arks and Warvn (that's what Ihey pl-rfer to be addressed as> and the whole \'ox Pop family. That's where I was formally made a livmiber of 'u Pup's gr;vi,g numbers. It, as most of the radio listening world knows, was Vox Pop that first used the method of playing on the listening world's softer side by bringing parents and families to see their servicemen that were not able, for various reasons, to go home to see them. And, it was all on Vox Pop. That was one of the many reasons why I was picked to repi vsent the faction of the Vox Pop family whose families had been brought to them by Vox Pop along the far-flung tracks of the Vox Pop Train. Another reason was the fact that I also represent ed a faction of the family that had made a change of suit and is slow ly adjusting itself to this old but. strange to the eyes life of John Q. and Joe College. Now, we come to what I did other than appear on the Iii ogram. Well, being there only for the weekend and Monday there was so much to do and so little time In which to do it. But. I take this time and opportunity (that knocks only once) to brag upon the fact that Mr. Doisey placed his hand within mine, the right one, and sat in conversation at our table. After having supper and feasting our ears upon some of the latest pl tter reprats of T. D.'s, we went out into the night life. Then it was just one numerical club after an other. When as much of the sites had been seen as was granted by time, we went up on the RCA building to take In the entire city, with a flicker of Jersey thrown in, at one glance. It was on the roof of the fladio City building that your scribe found that ill those build ings that had seemed so much up in the clouds were mere drops in the bucket to tle one that was thtn under his f-et. After looking at the city from almost Its tallest claim to high class living, the group went to the Music Hall to see the stage presentation of the famed-for-precision Rockettes. Aft er this it was to the hotel and that lovely creation, the bed. The hour was early, which goes to prove that everyone in New York doesn't pattern their lives after the lyrical lady in red. The next day began at ten and consisted in shopping and visiting some old friends that I had made in the year of my first trip on the V. P. Train. At this point in the recount we find ourselves back to the program and purpose of the trip. As all of those that chanced to tune in know, I took the last few minutes before he un-xpect ed. on t he part of Parks, visit from Lt. Bill Johnson 'ohnson famr.ily.)
