Brig. Gen. Harry Kicnibeek
Pickett, '10A, of Ridgeway, is serv
ing ao commander, Troop Training
unit of the Pacific Amphibious
Training Command. A veteran of
both World Wars, he is wearer of
the Gold Star, the Legion of Merit,
and various other ribbons. During
his outstanding military career,
which began in 1913, General
Pickett has served in France,
Mexico, Guam, Santo Domingo,
Haiti, and the South and Central
Pacific. le is addressed at the Ma
rine Corps Base. San Diego, Calif.
Charles B. Elliott, '13G, '16F, of
Columbia, who formerly served as
general counsel for the S. C. State
Office of Price Administration, has
resigned that position and is now
practicing law in the Liberty Life
Building. Prior to becoming chief
counsel for OPA, Mr. Elliott was
professor of law at the University.
Bennett Davenport, '14A, of Co
lumbia, recently was lelected presi
dent of the South Carolina Life Un
derwriters' Association. Previously,
he served as president of the Co
lumbia association and as secretary
treasurer of the State association.
He is agency manager for the Shen
