Spring Germ
Thie Murky WVay
By BETTY HENDLEY
THESE DAYS
Houseparties, swimming parties and the like galore. The
big question on campus is who will give the next one and
where shall it be? Also in the spotlight are the German
spring formal on June 2 and the Navy dance which will be
held June 1. On the calendar for this week-end is the Alpha
" Delta Pi party which is to be given Saturday out at Sheriff
Heise's. People are still talking about the wonderful time
they had at the Kappa Delta formal last week and the attrac
tive decorations. To add to the fun of that night the K)'s
and their dates went on a week-end houseparty out at Lake
Murray. Among those attending were: Bill Baker, Betty
Moore, Trudy Leonard, Shorty Johnson, Betty Dillard, Ned
Eakel, Jeune Goode, Jim King, Betty Salmon, Jimmy Wat
son, Peggy Williams, Bill Wepler, Bill Prigge, Elise Ready,
Ann Darby Tison, Brooksie Marshall, Marion Sims, Gerald
Dunbar and Jim Hutson. Another group week-ending at
the Lake consisted of Betty Counts, Rose Knox, Mary Ann
r MCElveen, Margaret Sloan, Bebe Sifford, Joann Phillips
and "Fluff" Cousins. After formal pledging Friday night
the Delta Zetas feted the new pledges with a party in the
sorority room in Coker College. The Tri-Delts celebrated
by going en masse to the picture show.
THOSE DAYS
Ah, those days! Remember the KA swimming party out
at "Smallwood"? The Kappa Sigs, the Delta Zetas, the
Sigma Nus and the Pi Phi's parties out at Doc Crawfords?
What about the Phi Eps, the Pi Kappa Sigs and the Pikers
jaunts to Sesqui? Then there was the joint Sigma Nu and
Sigma Chi hayride out at Sheriff Heise's, the Lambda Chi
banquet and drop-in, the Iillel picnic in Earlewood Park,
the party at Bond's place thrown by the Alpha Epsilon
Delta's (pre-med fraternity) and we must mention the
hayride and wiener roast given out at Doctor Adams' Pond
by Fifth company of the ROTC. Then, too, there was the
party given by the Baptist students at the home of Mrs.
G. C. Robinett's, 1426 Marion Street. Ah, those days!
