Friends who escaped from the camp this spring reported having seen Colonel Bonlware in February and March of last year and that ie was in good health and keeping himself well occupied. 1920-1929 William Monroe Layton, '21L, formerly of Marion, has turned up at Wilmette, Ill., after having made his home in New York, Arkansas, and Louisiana, where his work has taken him. An explorer and pro ducer of crude oil, Mr. Layton drilled oil wells in three states be fore settling in southern Illinois. His home address is 503 Central avenue, Wilmette, Ill. Raymond B. James Prioleau Richards, '21L, of Lancaster, who represents the Fifth Congressional district of South Carolina in Congress, has been honored with appointment as assist ant majority party whip of the House of Representatives. Lieut. Comdr. Samuel . Henry Edmunds, '26L, fornierly of Sumter, who has served as District Legal Officer for the Sixth Naval Dis tr-ict for the past three years, has received orders to report to the Naval Operating Base at Trinidad, British West Indies, where he will serve as Legal Officer.
