Henson, reputed to be commander of the best squadron in his command, was co-captain of the football team when he was a stu dent in the University. SEES THE HELL OF WAR-Ensign Ed ward Mclver (Eddie) Leppard, USNR, '44A, now in the European theatre, went in on D-doy, had his ship knocked out of commission, spent about a week in foxholes on the beach, during which time he and his crew helped to mann an anti-aircraft gun. During the invasion, when his ship, an amphibious vessel, op erated day and night for a month or more without relief and without dropping anchor, Ensign Leppard and one other en sign had joint command of the ship. "Send me The Gamecock," writes En sign Leppord. "When we get mail we feel like we can go out and lick the whole German Army. When we don't get eny mail we feel like whipped dogs.
