on how the young men of Carolina will be entertained henceforth while
they are sojourning in the infirmary. No longer will students be in
danget' of such distylses as whooping cough, measles, or what have you,
just because the boys hate to miss out on their social life-what they
manage to pick t:p in class-The campus service committee of the YVCA
is making plans to call on the unfortunates who are confined to the in
firmary. Not only do they plan to just go and talk to them, but they
are planning to take fruits, magazines, and even a few posies if requested.
Girls may sign up to be on this committee, but PLEASE DON'T PUSH!
* Taking Advantage Of Last Weekend .. .
Sally Nash, Barbara Lee, Margaret IcLeod, Jeanne Harby, and
Corinne Levy went to the home town, Sumter . . . Margaret Tucker,
Tan Miller, and Fances Randall went to the beach . . . lary hope Turner
tripped to Bennettsville . . . Jane Specht and Vylda Mae Pennington
went along too . . . Gloria Newlin had a visitor last week-end . . . Kitty
Yandall went to Augusta with Nat Kleckly . . . Keitt Harris visited Ia
and Pa in Spartanburg . .. Eleanor Barwick also made a quick trip to
Conversetown.
* Ah! Social Life .. .
Afany parties have been given for Mildred Salmon recently . . She
married "Buck" Larrimore of Georgetown Wednesday night . . . The
Chi O's are still talking about Jean Pascal's wedding. and rightly so
she was a beautiful bride . . . Tomorrow Slump McCauley will take the
BIG STEP . . . Don't forget "H1appy Hour" tonight-From all reports
this program is going over big with the Navy boys . . . The pre-flighters
are having a shindig tonight.
* It's Glorious . ..
isn't it my good people? By this statement I am of course speaking
about these mid-semesters that all of us seem to be experiencing. One
good thing about it is that everyone is suffering together. No one has
been known in the history of mid-semester time at Carolina to escape this
common fate that is the same for all. Oh well, cheer up, by the time
you read this it will all practically he over. So see life can really be
GLORIOUS after all.

that's what the GANIECO('K is singing these days. The home of the
GAME.COCK has been moved to the third floor of Flinn IHall. It really
does resemble the home of the artist, so of course that suits the staff
tine. Have you ever secn any writers of a college paper who weren't
convinced that they were really true artists but just weren't appreciated?
Of course wvhen winter conmes the artistic nature of eachs staff member
will become more noticeable . .. for there is a little coal stove in the
corner of the office that we will have to keep the home fires burning in.
Have you ever heard of a truly great artist who was not bothered with
tontinually making fires to keep the cold hand of winter away from his
door? So all in all we are proud of our new home. Come pay us a
visit sonetine.
* The German Club Dance ...
will be SATURDAY night in the armory with Clarence Braell and his
orchestra furnishing the tunes. In case you haven't noticed, screens
have been put on the windows so now you can dance in the cool even
ing breeze without fearing the dreadful buzz of a mosquito in the middle
of a di amy waltz. It has been rumored that several hundred girls in
Sims have started taking jitter-bug lessons in honor of the big occasion.
Watch out boys ... you have a hard night ahead of you.
