USC June Ball
The most eagerly-awaited dance of
the year, Carolina's annual June Ball,
will be held this year on May 29. in
the USC gymnasium, with the custo
mary hours from 12 til 6.
During the evening there will be
four no-breaks, the German Club
special, and the Junior-Senior special,
ollowing the figure. There will be
two intermissions, the first at 2 a. m.,
ind the second at 4 a. in.
Ina Ray Ifutton and her famous
iew all-male band will furnish the
music for dancing. Ina Ray and
ier orchestra are fresh from an en
gagement at the Astor Roof in New
York City, and are now making a
our of the southern states, where
hey are being received with a great
leal of enthusiasm.
Dargan Frierson, president of the

Delta Zeta sorority is entertaining
tonight with a formal dance in the
ballroom of the Wade Hampton Ho
tel from nine until one. Music for
the affair will be furnished by Buster
Spann and his Gamecock orchestra.
During the evening there will be
three no-breaks and a special for
members and their dates. "The
Dream Girl of Delta Zeta" will be
played for the special no-break.
Leading the grand march will be:
Lillian Gayle, president, with Billy
Douglas, followed by Martha Wright,
vice-president, with Lyndell Black
mon, Betty Carlisle, secretary, with
Bill Blake, Ann Hudson, treasurer,
with Bob Chamblee, Olivia Coward,
historian, with Jack Faulk, and Olive
Hudson, chairman of the dance com
mittee, with John Holland.
The theme of the decorations for
the dance will be a garden of roses,
and many spring flowers will be used
to carry out this theme.
Members of the faculty, and alum
nae of Delta Zeta have been invited
to chaperon.
