Which only serves to remind us, that we know a joke about a tooth, but it's too rotten to pull ouch . . . Oh what a week-end last week! It was wunnerful, though. Kappa Delta sorority has elected its officers for next year. They are: President, Dodie Brown; Vice-President, Mildred Salmon; Secretary, Bet ty Faulconer; Treasurer, Virginia Bracey; Assistant Treasurer, Frances Griffin; Editor, Tina Cannon; Pan-Hellenic Representative, Mary Louise Goudelock; and Rush Captain, Frances Randall . . . New officers of the Independents were installed Monday. They are: President, Virginia Cope land; Vice-President, Sybil Ingram; Corresponding Secretary, Leone Strick land; Recording Secretary, Josephine Zula; Treasurer, Louise Pendergast; and Reporter, Alice Hogarth: FAST STORY ... It's to be at the sand pits and will be very informal . . . The Kappa Sigs are planning a party for next week sometime . . The Kappa Deltas entertained for Betty Wertz Wednesday in the chapter room. Betty is being married tomorrow night to Lieutenant Marion Beacham. She was pre.sented. a silver tray with the letters K D engraved on it . . . ATO fraternity pitched a party Tuesday night. Members and their dates frolicked at Lake Murray . . . KSK had-its annual banquet last night in the Crystal room of the Columbia Hotel. TO THE POINT... Doug Jennings, as he presents a bo.r of candy: "Sweets to the sweet." Marie Montague: "Gee, thanks. Havc somei nuts." DOINGS ... The KA's are busily engaged in a clean-up campaign this week. They're tidying the yard, planting grass, cleaning the interior of the frat house, and even washing windows so they can see who's passing by . . . Peggy Newton is sponsor this week-end at Citadel for the Senior Hop and dress parade . . . Others going down for the dances include Clark McCants, Dan Hollis, Betty Brady, Betty Marshall, Grace Gayden, and Milwee Gold schmidt ... Alva Coggeshall is at P. C. this week-end . .. Tommy Truluck Charlie Baber is traveling to Gaffney . . . Harold McCord, Charlie Dukes, and Rut Osborne spent last week-end in Orangeburg . . . Bernice Tucker visited in Kingstree . . . In honor of the new initiates, Blue Key will give its annual banquet and dance next Wednesday night in the ballroom of the Wade Hampton Hotel. The principal speaker for the banquet will be former Senator James H. 'Hammond of Columbia . . . Jack Hendley, USMC, and John Spigner, US army were visitors on the campus last week . . . To morrow at 4:30 Ann Dixon and Jack Mercer will be married in the First Presbyterian church. The groomsmen, all of the Savannah Air Base, will fly up in formation for the wedding . . . This an nual affair will be held at seven o'clock in the crystal room of the Columbia Hotel. The cheering died down and th< girls voted. Katherine Edgerton and Elizabeth Brady were elected. Jan< Brooks Marshall was chosen as al ternate. The association voted $50.00 to be used to publish the co-ed handbook. The Co-ed council will choose a co editor and co-business manager to collaborate with James Hill, editor, and William Jones, business and cir culation manager, in putting out the book. Emily Wolfe was appointed chair man of committee to help plan the May Queen coronation ceremonies. Jane Brooks Marshall was made chairman of a defense committee to obtain student pledges for war bonds and stamps. I Everyone will dance to the music of Buster Spann from nine till one. During the evening there will be a - special junior-senior figure, a special senior no-break, and three other no breaks. For the occasion the gymnasium will be patriotically decorated in red, I white, and blie. Members of the fac ulty have been asked to chaperon. Assessments can be paid at the door.
