The society also suggested tha each of its members sign the peti tion erected by the Liberal Thinker requesting the repeal of this regula tion. In its business session, the societ voted to donate $10.00 to the Carc lina Boosters Club and $5.00 t O.D.K. to erect Dr. J. Rodgers, ir structor in radio. The broadcasts are written by th National Tuberculosis Associatio headquarters in New York, but wi be produced and directed by men bers of the class. One of the most unique was the appearance of majorettes at the head of the University band. "The personnel of the band and the students of the University are gratified that we were able to utilize this unique talent that we have found here," Dean G. E. Olson, di rector of the group, said today. Permission was granted the band a to add majorettes before the game. The majorettes were: Miss Ethel Louise Pendergast, Miss Lucille Reasonover and Miss Nadine Hall. Professor Zeigler joined the an nual burning of the Clemson Tiger last Wednesday night on the eve of the Carolina-Clemson varsity football tussle. During the melee of students someone suggested a rope to hold the Gamecock supporters in line. The rope was brought up. According to the newspapers ac count heroic Mr. Zeigler grabbed the rope and had a one man tug o'-war with several Clemson cadets who wished to take the rope as a souvenir. "Why, really all I did was hold the rope when it seemed to be fall ing from in front of the students," modestly declared Professor Zeigler. Upon continued questioning Pro fessor Zeigler repeated his state ment over and over again. "I am not a hero, and don't' you try to make one out of me," he declared. John L.
