In one of three contested elections,
Bob Griffith, Easley, junior in the
school of arts and sciences, defeated
Marion Jordan, also an arts and
science junior, by a vote of 59 to 21
for the vice-presidential office. Other
officers elected by acclamation were:
Paul Posey, secretary; I larold Moore,
treasurer; and Jimmy Mulford, critic.
In the Board of Publications con
test, Elliot McCants, with 66 votes,
and Holmes Dreher, with 61, easily
defeated Lane Woodcock for the two
available berths on the board. Wood
cock received a total of 7 votes.
The society's two positions on the
debating council were filled with the
election of George Aycock, 60 votes,
and Deward Brittain, 64 votes. F.
Atkinson, also in the debating council
race received 7 votes.
Julian Levine was elected to the
Student Council by acclamation.
Said successfully elected McKown
in his speech of acceptance: "I'm
going to work next year for the boys
who are going to work for me."

June Week Says Lewis

As is the custom, various classeE
leaving the University of South Caro
lina during the past few decades will
hold annual reunions during Junt
week of this year. Ralph Lewis, Al
umni Secretary, has announced thal
seven classes have made plans to tlii

as to what they will do.
Beginning with the class of 1885
with Edwin G. Seibels as chairman
this group will hold their annual re
union on Tuesday evening, June 4

senior members of the Carolina
Christian Service club Monday even
ing in honor of their service to the
club and in its work the past year.
R. G. Bell, secretary of the local
YMCA made the presentation.
Those seniors receiving diplomas

meetings of three hours each, making
a total of 15 hours.
