Course To Be Given
Again Next Year By
American Red Cross
The candidates for the senior life
saving emblem closed their course
on last Friday night. 27 completed
their work and will receive their
certificates and emblems at a later
date.
This course was offered by the
American Red Cross, and will be
offered again at the University
natatorium next year.
The director of this course was
Rod Turnbull, with Kirk Norton,
Bob White, "Moon" McCullough,
Willis Beall, M. L. Hicks, Bob Har
ris, and Micky Emerie serving as
instructors.
Certificates will be awarded by
the American Red Cross, with em
blems being given at a slight extra
cost. The officials will award these
at the earliest possible date.

More Teams To Enter
The first intramural softball tour
nament ever held at USC will begin
Monday on Melton Field, J. A.
Crawford, director of physical edu
cation announced Wednesday.
While the schedule of the first
week of play already has been made
out, it is not too late for more teams
to enter the tourney, Mr. Crawford
emphasized. He asked, however,
that each team be on time to fill its
contests. Otherwise the games will
be forfeited.
The schedule for next week is as
follows:
Monday: Pi Kappa Alpha vemsus
Phi Sigma Kappa.
Tuesday: Phi Beta Delta versus
Alpha Tau Omega.
Wednesday: Tenements I and 3

to winners of the second annual in
tramural swimming meet Tuesday,
J. A. Crawford, director of physical
education said Wednesday.
B. Allen was high scorer of the
meet with 17 points. He was fol
lowed by Kirk and Harris with 15
each, and Beall with 13. Allen
garnered most of his points on sec
ond and third places, winning only
one first, the 25 yard freestyle.
