Birds Lose To Georgia At Athens Athens, Jan. 6.-Georgia eked out a 26-24 victory over the University of South Carolina basketeers Tuesday night in an over-time game at Athens, Ga. Captain Jack Farren of the Bulldog team shot the extra goal shortly after the beginning of the overtime playing, and the Georgians held their lead of two points until the end of the game. Kelly of Georgia led scoring for the evening with 12 points, while Hutto of the Gamecocks was second with 10 markers. Bill Simpson, regular forward of the Carolina team, was unable to accom pany his team nates to Athens for the game. Simpson, alternate captain of the team, who has been hampered by an injured knee most of the season, said that he could not afford to miss his classes both this week and next week, and preferred to stay at home this week so that he will be able to make the trip with the team next week. Gamecocks making the trip were Captain Guy Lipscomb, Kanuck, Wolfe, Alexander, Hutto, Petty, and Eleazer. -V. B. 0. O. D. K. Elects Frank Jordan At a recent banquet and initiation, at the Columbia Hotel, given by the O. D. K. fraternity of the University of South Carolina, Frank Jordan was elected pres ident, Charles Manning, vice-president, and Bratton Davis, secretary.
