Clemson College
Clemson, S. C.
Dear Sir:
For the past few weeks members of
our student body and our leadership
organizations have been giving much
thought to certain phases of our an
nual Carolina-Clemson football game.
In an attempt to improve upon the
more objectionable features of our an
nual classic, a large number of our
student body in an official student body
meeting have adopted the following
resolutions:
Whereas, the conduct of the spec
tators at intercollegiate football games
reflects upon the reputation of the par
ticipating institutions and whereas
criticisms concerning drinking is dam
aging the reputation of this and other
institutions:
Be it resolved that the student body
of the University of South Carolina go
on record as looking with disfavor
upon the use of intoxication drinks by
attendants at games.
Be it also resolved that the student
body and its leadership organizations
give particular attention to the main
t ;v af te scr tres betore the
Carolina-Clemson game with the pur
pose of actively discouraging any un
becoming conduct which may arise in
connection with said fires.
Be it further resolved that a copy of
this resolution be sent to the student
body of Clemson College with a re
quest for their cooperation.
Knowing the principles and high
standards of Clemson students, we are
sure that your student body joins us
in the expression of the above reso
r lution and will cooperate with us for
the improvement of our annual class
ic. The purpose of this letter is to
solicit your cooperation in this.
Hoping that we shall have a better
- and more successful game in every way
this year, I am,
