DORMITORY RENT MUST BE PAID Or Penalty Will Result Dean Chase And Marshal Cantey Make Arrangements For Stu dents to Entertain Guests A campaign to eliminate from the men's dormitories students who are evading the required room fee is being launched by John A. Chase, Jr., dean of administration, and J. M. Cantey, marshal. Besides providing punishment for the illegal occupation of dormitory rooms, the committee has also ar ranged for students to entertain over night guests. Mr. Cantey has charge of the guest book in which the student registers his guest and the days he will be here. The marshal will then place an additional bed in the student's room. The following rules have been drawn up concerning room occupation: (1) Any student of the University residing in the dormitories who has not made the payment of the room fee shall be automatically denied the ac commodations of the dormitories for the remainder of the semester in which the infraction took place, and will be required to pay to the University treas urer a fine of $5 and must make pay ment in full for the days he -was il legally occupying the room at a pro rata-rate of $5 per month. (2) On the second offense of such an infraction the student will be auto matically and permanently excluded from the occupation of the dormitories for the remainder of his attendance at the University, and will be required to pay to the treasurer a fine of $5 and must make payment in full for the days he was illegally occupying 'the room at a pro rata rate of $5 per month. (3) The above rules shall apply to any student who has paid the required room fee, holds a regular assignment in the dormitories, and who permits the illegal occupancy of any of the University dormitories. In other words. the students regularly assigned to a room are held responsible for the oc cupants of the room as well as the con tents.
