Both teams are undefeated, and will be on their toes to win this game which will probably de cide the state championship for freshmen. Last year, led by Ed Clary and Ralph Dearth, now mainstays on the varsity team, the Carolina first year men turned back the Cubs 7-2 and later won the state title by defeating Furman. Clemson scored at will in routing Ers kine's freshmen 55-0 in their opening game of the season; Carolina also had little difficulty in spbduing P. C. 33-0 in a battle which showed up several potential stars for the Carolina varsity. Dick Little, Red Snyder, Gene Robin son, James Reynolds, and Heber Stroud scored one touchdown each to clearly in dicate their superiority over the Anklets. The defensive play of the Biddies kept the ball in P. C. territory most of the game with the yearlings threatening to score only once during the game. Every man on the squad was used dur ing a part of the contest, around forty men seeing action. To stop the invading Cubs, Coach Ted Petoskey will have the same team that conquered P. C. plus the experience of three weeks' practice and scrimmage against the varsity team. A heavy line made up of deadly tack lers, and a backfield which can combine spieed with power characterize the Biddie team. The linemen average around 190 pounds, and the backield men about ten pounds less. Only two men have been kept from practice because of injuries this year, Dick Baxter, a 200 pound end from To ledo, broke his ankle in the first scrim mage of the year and was forced to carry it in a plaster cast for a few weeks. ilow ever, it has nearly healed now, and he is expected to be able to play against Clem son, although he will probably not start off the game. Irving Granoff was the other victim of injuries. Granoff is from Brooklyn, N. Y. and weighs 195 pounds. His in jury was not serious and he is also ex pected to be able to get in the game to night. G;ene Alexander and Frank Sousman will start the game at ends tonight. Alex ander, who weighs 196 pounds is from Carbondale, Illinois, and has shown him self to be a good defensive player as well as pass receiver. Sousman is another of a long line of Gaftiey football products, who tips the scales at 205 pounds. At tackles will be Biggs and Granoff. Biggs is from Toledo, Ohio, and Granmoff I hails from Brooklyn, N. Y. Both of these were stars in high school. BIrazell, 186, from York, S. C. and Lawson, 163, will start the game off at guardls. Iarold Hartell will be in at the Pivot position. Hlartell, who weighs 205 POUnds and comes from Lackwana, N. Y., is a power on defense. Coach Petoskey has an abundant array of backfield material to choose his four starters from. Tony Ionchar will prob ably start off at quarterback. Lonchar is a punter and passer as well as signal caller. At halfback will be Dick Little and I Red Snyder. Little played for Columbiai liigh last year and was selected on the All-State team. Little is also a ten see-i Onid man on the track team. Snyder is< noted mainly for his blocking and pass receiving, Hie is from Toledo, and weighs I 187 pounds.
