In Talk To Principals
Professor Says That Students
Must Be Shown Better Point
Of View
"Youths of today must receive a
better philosophy of life if they are
to be spared the tragedy that has be
fallen the citizens of this era," asserted
Dr. Josiah Morse in his address be
fore the high school principals Fri
day a. m.
"The leaders of today have devoted
all their mental energies to making
more things and gave little or nothing
to living a better individual or col
lective life. High school principals
must step in and supply a real type
of philosophy that will give the stu
dents a better scale of value; a point of
view, and an objective to strive for,"
Doctor Morse pointed out.
The need of a leader that will keep
the students, who are the citizens of
tomorrow, from going astray was
stressed.
"The depression and social disintergra
tion is not due to the lack of raw ma
terial nor means of manufacturing
them, for there is a superabundance of
everything, yet the social machinery
has broken down. A real philosophy
would have prevented this tragedy and
must be prevented in the future," the
speaker concluded.
