Co-Ed Debators Are Undefeated Have District Meeting Rector, Sutton, And Culbertson Debate Four Southern ( Colleges The co-ed debating team returned un defeated from its recent trip to New Or leans. While away the Carolina students e debated L.S.U., M.S.C.W., A.S.C.W., and v Howard College. It was a very'eventful trip according to a the victorious team, which is composed of Sara Rector, Mary Sutton and Mary 3 Culbertson. Mardi Gras was in full- a swing while the trio were in New Or leans, but other features of the old city claimed their interest too. Among the j spots of historic interest seen by the co eds were the old Jesuit cathedral, the old French market where no English is spoken, curiosity shops, and the old ceme teries and vaults. At Baton Rouge they visited the grave of I-lucy Long and went through the five million dollar capitol that he had built. Later the trio crossed the line into Flor ida and took some snap-shots. The discussion group lead by Professo Carlisle 'Roberts is a close second witi 313 points. Tenement 29 has the larges membership of any group on the c'ampu and is lead by Nathan Rosen. The grand march will be led by Margaret Cornwall with her escort and blivia Wat kins, province president. This will be fol lowed by a special no-break for Zetas and their dates only. Mrs. A. R. Childs, dean of women at the University, will be the guest speaker - at the luncheon to be held in the Jefferson hotel Saturday at 1 :00 o'clock. The dining room will be decorated with court of arms of all pan-hellenic members. Mrs. W. O. Sweeny will favor the gathering with a number of songs. A formal dinner Sunday will carry out the idea of the old south. Toasts will be made to the old and new south and to the old and the new officers of the province. From 8 :30 until 10 Saturday, the soror ity will conduct a drop-in in the lobby of the Woman's Building in honor of the r delegates. Brown Banishes Dog In Winning First Suit J. Wiley Brown, member of the State legislature, student in the University law school, part time instructor in the Depart ment of English, and part time everything in general, has won his first law suit. It was just a case of Brown versus "Pluto." Poorlittle "Pluto" was the mas cot of (lear old1 Tenement 26, as the boys affectionately call it. It didn't take a little bird to tell Browvn that there was a dog in the adljoining tenement to his "sancto." Delving back into the cherished rules of the 01(1 South Carolina college, Brown found it unlawful to keep little "Plu toes" in tenements. The followving morning, Stokes Goolshy received a letter from the Marshal say ing that he must sendl "Pluto" to a board ing school or something. That afternoon Goolsby could be seenl playing on the green with "Pluto." How innocent little "Pluto" looked. And how sadl Goolsby! "Pluto" had to go.
