Many couples are out on the courts every afternoon. Co-eds have also turned to basketball as a pas time. Last Tuesday and Wednesday nights sorority girls and independents battled for intra-mural championships. Z. T. A. The Mothers Club of Zeta Tau Alpha are planning a skating carnival for actives and pledges of Z. T. A. The carnival is to be held on Pickens Street in front of MeMaster school. The club is also planning a rummage sale at 8:30 Saturday morning. S. P. E. The S. P. E.s entertained with a house (lance last Saturday night. Alumni members attending were: Dr. R. I-. Wienefeld, Dean Crow and Kenneth Fox. Tri Delta Initiation to Delta Delta Delta is to be held next Monday night. A.s gave a party at Lake Murray last Friday night. Members of the fraternity, pledges and their dates attended. Chi Omega Pledges of Chi Omega will be ini tiated tonight. The following are to be initiated: Beverley Bates, Sara Tay lor, Nancy Turner, Kathleen Burgess and Myrtle Hair. Convention Members of Z. T. A. are planning to hold A convention March 21. All chapters of Alpha p)rovince of Z.. T. A. will be rep)resentedl. This conven tion is the first of its kind to be held at the University. The province con sists of chapters at D)uke, Randolph Macon, George WVashington and the University. Sigma Nu Sigma Nu announces the p)ledlging of Billy Norton, Marioni, and D)ick Little, Columbia. One of the most successful dances of the season was that given by the girls' Kappa Sigma Kappa, campus spirit organization, last Saturday night from nine to twelve in the gymnasium This was a girl-break dance, and therc were four no-breaks. Buster Spann and his Gamecocl< Orchestra played for the affair. Script for the occasion was 30 cents. This is the first K. S. K. dance of the semes. ter. Jennie Clarkson is president of the organization. Phi Sigma Kappa Lott Lawson, G. B. Brunswick Ewen Robinson, and Lang Hogan were recently initiated into Phi Sigma Kappa. While at the tournament Petoskey will try to arrange the basketball schedule for next season. lie and W. H. I Iarth, athletic director, are attempting to ar range a "big time" schedule for the com ing season. It is probable that an ex tensive trip will be made during the Christmas holidays. This is coach Petoskey's first year at the University but (luring the short period that he has been here, his team has been regarded as one of the best coached in the conference. -U. S. o.
