Sumwalt Honored By Engineers Will Work On Manual Methods Of Running Control Sur veys To Be Included In Proposed Booklet Professor Robert L. Sumwalt of th< Engineering Department was recently named by the Executive Commtittet of Surveying and mapping )ivisior of the American Society of Civil En gineers to serve on its Committee ot Control Surveys. The other members on the com mittee are: Philip Kissam, Princeton University Edgar A. Bayley, Los Angeles, Calif. Robert HI. Randall, Toledo, Ohio John G. Staak, U. S. Gecologic Sur vey; Charles J. Tilden, Yale Univer sity; H. W. Hemple, U. S. Coast an (eodedic Survey; and H. G. Avers U. S. Coast and Geodedic Survey. The objects of this committee ar( to produce a manual which would in corporate methods of running contra surveys and to write articles on loca surveys. --U. s. o.
