First Drama
One-Act Plays Chosen
Maurice Stephan Will Again Be
Technical Advisor To Uni
versity Actors
The first appearance of the Univer
sity Players, booked for November 1,
is planned to consist of two one-act
plays, which have not been selected
to date. The University Players is
now a permanent student organization.
Maurice Stephan, professor of the
Romance Languages, who directed the
group last season, will remain technical
adviser for the coming season.
The question of adopting the new
theatre movement was brought up at
the meeting last Thursday night, and
a weekly forum, to be held at its meet
ings was established, during which
various plays will be discussed from
their social, economic, and philosophic
viewpoints.
A committee composed of Bufort
Mabry, Sylvia Stern, Helen Gibney,
Joe Cohen, and Herbert Schreiber, was
chosen to decide upon the two one
act plays which will be produced.
All students who are interested in
dramatics are urged to become mem
bers of the organization. No previous
acting experience is necessary.
Season tickets to all the perfor
mances may be secured from any mem
ber of the organization for one dollar,
good for four productions.

two of the professors, and their gait
did not indicate any desire to dwad
dIe by the wayside. They walked in
the determined, silent manner of men
who have a definite task to perform
as soon as they get where they are
headed. The boys decided on. the
spur of the moment that they woulu
go home after all, and not bother to
wait for morning.

more per month in beauty shops than

These figures wvere revealed in the
results of a survey of the buying
habits at the University of Minnesota
made by an insurance company. The
survey showed that clothes form the
greater part of the co-ed's budget,
while food is the largest item in the
collegian's budget.
