Many Faculty Changes

CLOCK IN A CHURCH TOWER
By Nancy Telfair
A little bronze gnome
Without any eyes
Has a hammer, large
As a man in size.
He has a round disk
As big as the moon,
Suspended between
The midnight and noon.
The little bronze gnome
Has not any ears;
He beats on the disk
And another hears.
The little bronze gnome
Knows nothing of love;
He pounds out the hours
In the spire above.
The little bronze gnome
Beats twelve strokes-then one
If love shall not last,
Shall pain, too, be done?

Play Of Carolina-Duke

Columbia fans and Carolina stu
dents will be given a chance to keep
up with the play by play account of
the Duke-U. S. C. game to be played
at Durham Saturday with the grid
graph which will be shown in the
University Field house at 2:30 o'clock.
This performance will be sponsored
by the K. S. K., honorary service fra
ternity, and plans are rapidly going
forward to take care of the huge
crowd that is expected. The grid
graph was shown last year and proved
very popular and was renewed this
year because of hundreds of requests.
The gridgraph is very expensive
and the K. S. K. is attempting to clear
the machine of a debt of over two
hundred dollars. Because of this, an
admission fee of 44c will be charged
outsiders while students may get in
for 15c with their athletic books.
Prof. J. T. Penney, the owner of
the gridgraph, says that as soon as
the debt is removed, the admission
prices will be lowered and the ma
chine will be used for the benefit of
the school.
The gridgraph will also be used for
the Davidson game, October 12.
