First Damas Held Tonight In Jefferson Ballroom Attractive Decorations Will Adc Beauty For One Of Season's Most Colorful Dances The opening Datnas of the year wil be danced in the ballroom of the Jef fcrson hotel tonight from 9 o'clocl until 1:30. Bids have already been is sued to several hundred University men and others and the affair is ex pected to be of unusual brilliance. The Gamecock orchestra will play for the dance and the hall has bcci attractively decorated. Leading the grand march will b< Miss Elizabeth Carlisle, president o the club, and Frost Walker. They will be assisted by Miss Katherim Townsend, vice-president, with hei date. The junior-senior figure will be let by Miss Kathcrine Hcndley, senio: leader, with Keels Maxwell. Co-eds Make Debut At Ball At the brilliant Columbia Asseinbl ball last night, 14 University co-ed made their formal bow to society. Tli Assembly was founded a number o years ago by a group of mothers, fo the purpose of bringing out their daugh ters. The hall is an annual affair. The ball last night was featured b the regular debutant figure. The ball room was beautifully decorated and ; delightful supper was served during tin evening. Before supper 10 card dance were danced and after supper frc breaking was allowed. IT. H. O. Kappa Alpha (Northern) is the old est strictly social fraternity.
