Dances staged by the social cabinet
this year have been unusually successful
and the cabinet has spared no pains
in trying to make this one the best of
the entire year.
The floor will he attractively decorated
and massed wild flowers will be
featured.
President and Mrs. Baker, Mrs.
King, and other University officials,
and prominent Carolina alumni have
been invited to chaperon.
"Red" Watts, is chairman of the
social cabinet. Johnny Bowden and
Louis Rosen are the other student
members. Dr. Penny and Professor
Marcer are the two faculty members
of the cabinet.

The initiation of the new members
and the installation of officers will be
held at a banquet to be held next Friday
night at the Columbia hotel. All
members of the local chapter, members
of the law faculty and local alumni of
the fraternity have been invited to attend.
The guest of honor will be J.
W. Pless, national president of the
fraternity.
At the banquet next Friday night
definite scholastic requirements for
membership will be formulated.

committee appointed by President Baker
had made plans for a banquet to which
about 100 of Doctor Snowdcn's friends
from various walks of life were to be
invited. In talkifig over these plans Mr.
Snowden often said, "It will be line if
only I live to see it." It is a satisfaction
to friends and admirers that he
derived a great deal of pleasure in the
discussion of the arrangements, although
the plans were frustrated by bis death.
