Mildred Dilling Will Be
In Glee Club Concert
Mildred Dilling, the noted harpist
who so pleased a Columbia audience
last year, will appear on the program
of the only concert to be given in
Columbia this season by the University
Glee Club.
1 he Glee Club has done unusually
good work this year, and received
praise from nationally prominent music
critics while on the northern trip.
This concert will be at Drayton
Hall on Friday evening, March 1G.

of the Elementary Child" at
the meeting of elementary principals
Thursday afternoon. Dr. W. C. McCall
will speak on "Findings from
Placement Tests in English" at the
English departmental meeting Friday
morning. "The Value of Foreign Languages
in a High School Curriculum"
was the subject of Dr. Emmet Kilpatrick's
speech at the meeting of the
modern language section Thursday
afternoon and Prof. O. L. Keith will
speak before this same group Friday
morning on "Cooperation, Collaboration:
High School and College." Dr.
E. L. Green will lead a discussion before
the ancient language section Friday
morning.
A class of University high school
pupils under the direction of Miss
Lucia Daniels will present a project,
"The Constitutional Convention of
1787" before the history teachers Friday
morning. Dr. Patterson Wardlaw
gave the address of welcome before
the school libraries section Thursday
afternoon and introduced the speaker,
Miss Nora Bcust. "Attitudes" will be
the subject of an address by Dr.
Josiah Morse at the mental hygiene
conference, under the auspices of the
South Carolina society for Mental
Hygiene Friday afternoon.
The University of South Carolina
alumni will hold a banquet Friday
evening at 0 o'clock at the University
high school cafeteria.
