Frat Merges [ With Sorority Move JNot Unexpected " Landlord's Willingness To Cut Door Between Two Houses Speeds Action U ?U, Plarts to denationalize the local chapters of the Delta Delta Delta sorority and the Kappa Sot fraternity and merge the two into an organization which will be entirely original in Greek letter circles were announced last night after a joint meeting of the two groups in the rear room of "Jake's," campus milk and ice cream resort. The exact nature of the new organization was not made public but from several sources came the cryptic statement that it was going to be "a whizz." Mona ' Yes, You Shall Be Free" Martin, president of the defunct Tri-Delta chapter went on to say that when the purposes of the organization were found out a new day in fraternity history would dawn. The move to join the two groups was not altogether unexpected although action at such an early date was a trifle unlooked for. The movement began last winter about the time the Kappa Sots were observed going over to spend the night with the Tri-Delts but no action was taken until now because of the landlords refusal to cut a doorway between the adjoining apartments of the two groups. It is understood, however, that plans have at last been perfected and that the door will be cut. As soon as the announcement of the proposed merger was made public, Registrar Jack Chase said that lie planned to call a meeting of the faculty immediately in order that it might pass a ruling requiring that the proposed door between the two apartments be locked at 7:00 p. 111. each day and the key turned over to the matron of the women's building. The new group plans to protest such action.
