Netmen Break Even When They
Lose Two Singles, And One
Doubles Match
Each winning two singles and one
double match the University of South
Carolina and College of Charleston
tennis teams divided honors in their
second meet of the season yesterday
in the seaside city.
In the singles starter, Beckman,
Charleston, was easily a winner over
Holman, Carolina, 0-1, 6-1. Then
Baker, Charleston, mowed down
Oulla, Carolina, in two straight sets,
0-2, 6-4.
Carolina started scoring when Crum
defeated Vunk in straight sets, 0-4,
0-2, and Allen, Carolina, evened the
count by beating Tiller, Charleston,
handily, 0-1, 0-1.
Beckman and Baker, composing the
first doubles team for the Charlestouians,
were clearly superior to Oulla
and Collins, Carolina's first doubles
combination, and won 0-1, 0-1.
Holman and Allen, however, came
back to tic the score for Carolina with
a victory over the combination of Vunk
and Tiller of the College of Charleston.
