DEBATE SCHEDULE BEING ARRANGED Debating Council Plans To Arrange Trip Into Virginia; Many Other Meets i The Debating Council is busy arranging one of the best debating schedules ever attempted by the University of South Carolina. Wilson Weldon, Secretary of the Council is in correspondence with several schools concerning probable debates. Among them are Emory, Georgia, Loyola, Tennessee, Florida, North Carolina, N. C. State, Wake Forest, Virginia, Hampden-Sydney, and may other colleges and universities. A trip into Virginia and Maryland is being planned for the early spring. Another trip into Georgia is tentatively in the making. It is planned to have the entire schedule announced before the Christmas holidays. The Council also hopes . to secure a larger interest among the students in debating. u. s. o. She will be connected with the department of Journalism. Miss Gilland was graduated from Converse College last June with high honors.
