On Wednesday afternoon of Religious
Week, "Dad" Elliott held a meeting
for co-eds only. At this meeting l
which was attended by a large num- J
her of girls, "Dad" delivered a wonder- t
ful address. He urged that the girls ?
stand up for their ideals even at the
cost of popularity and good times.
Although a girl may lead a very lonely
life, alone with her ideals, "Dad" de- :
clared that she would never regret t
her stand. He told the girls how great ^
was their influence on the men of the
campus and pleaded with them to use

PEP MEETING BEFORE GAME
Co-Ed Spirit Olub Sponsors The
Cheerio Section At Football
Games
Results of the preparations made by
Kappa Sigma Kappa, girl's spirit club,
were manifest at the Carolina-Virginia
game Saturday, when several hundred
co-eds sat massed in their cheering
section and vied with the boy's
Cheerio section in supporting their
team.
Plans for a pep meeting just before
the game were made at a meeting of
the sorority Friday at the Woman's
Building, and the value of organized
cheering was attested to by the increased
volume of soprano and contralto
cheers at the game. Sarah
Quattlebaum and Harriet Scarborough,
co-ed cheer leaders, directed the
shouts of their section. Confetti filled
the air at critical moments as the girls
gave vent to their sympathies, and the
crowd was dotted by heads of freshmen,
adorned by the Garnet and Black
berets which mark their status as
novices.

VISITS CAROLINA
HERE FOR RELIGIOUS WEEK
Holds Meeting Of Co-Eds At The
Dormitory Wednesday And
Thursday
One of Carolina's most prominent
visitors during Religious Week was
Miss Mary Scudder, dean of women
at Winthrop college. During her brief
stay, Miss Scudder met with the coeds
and together they discussed problems
which are of vital interest to
everyone. The first discussion group
met Wednesday night at the Woman's
building. Miss Scudder read over several
situations which might arise in
anyone's life, and the girls decided on
the one in which they were most interested
and talked it over.
The co-eds were so charmed with
Miss Scudder that she was asked to
meet with them the next day at 2
o'clock. At this meeting Miss Scudder
discussed various vocations and
the fields of activity which are now
open to women.
